Concrete for Blanchard's New Homes and Old Townsite
Blanchard went from small farm town to commuter town almost overnight, and a lot of the calls we get for concrete contractors in Blanchard come from that growth. The census counted 2,816 people in 2000, 7,670 in 2010 and 8,879 in 2020, with an estimate of 9,663 for 2023. The city covers about 30.5 square miles, mostly in McClain County, with its limits reaching west into Grady County. We pour new driveways, patios, walks, stamped concrete and shop slabs, and repair or replace older work.
A 1906 townsite
Blanchard began with three lot sales, the first held by the Canadian Valley Construction Company on September 19, 1906. The post office opened that December, and within a year the town had about forty businesses, including two banks. The name comes from William G. "Bill" Blanchard. Homes near the original townsite are the oldest in the city, and they often have narrow drives, small stoops and walks that have been patched over the decades.
On those older lots, we replace failed sections and match finish and joint layout to what remains, or replace a whole drive and walk at once when most of it has failed.
The newer half of town
The 2000s boom brought subdivisions and acreage homes, especially toward Newcastle and along U.S. Routes 62 and 277 and Highway 76. Many of those homes now need the projects that builders left off: back patios, extended driveways, side pads for trailers, walkways to a detached garage and slabs for metal buildings. Because the slabs from that decade are now 15 to 25 years old, we also see the first round of repairs: settled garage aprons and cracked patio corners where downspouts drain.
Open country and red dirt
Blanchard sits at about 1,309 feet, higher than Norman, on open rolling land. Chickasha is 18 miles southwest and Oklahoma City 27 miles north. On open lots the wind dries fresh concrete fast, and heavy spring rain runs across bare ground and can wash out a base that was not compacted. We compact and grade the base, form the slab with enough fall to shed water, and cure the surface properly so it does not crack from drying too quickly.

Blanchard Questions
Can you add a patio to a new Blanchard home?
Yes. Adding a patio, a walk to the back yard or a side pad to a home from the 2000s is one of our most common Blanchard jobs. We tie the new slab into the existing one cleanly and set it to drain away from the house.
Do you work on the Grady County side of Blanchard?
Yes. We work anywhere inside Blanchard's city limits in both McClain and Grady counties, and on nearby acreages.
Why did my 15-year-old garage apron settle?
The usual causes are a base that was not compacted well during construction and water from a downspout or poor grading. We check both before recommending a repair.
